The Victorian Ghost Story
In the nineteenth century, ghost stories were a beloved feature of Christmas gatherings, when families and friends huddled around the fire to share stories of haunted houses, restless spirits, and mysterious legends.Inspired by the writings of Westchester's own Washington Irving, Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol remains the best-known example of the tradition (though a slew of other uncanny tales made the rounds each holiday season). Spirits of the Season invites audiences to rekindle this long forgotten custom and celebrate the yuletide with an enchanting, unexpected evening. Take a break from the holiday hustle, gather together, and enjoy a few good shivers in the warmth of shared company.Admission includes a festive hot beverage.
